From Sales Representative to Sales Manager
Alexander Bassili has been with Lumon as a sales representative since September 2020, where he was headhunted for the position. In a short amount of time, he has risen through the ranks and secured a position as one of our Sales Managers. We wanted to have a closer conversation with the new Sales Manager who leads a team of four sales representatives!
Question | Tell me a bit about yourself and your current role at Lumon.
Answer: Alexander Bassili, 33 years old, currently working as a sales manager. In my role as a sales manager in Oslo, I am responsible for a team of four sales representatives. I've been working in sales since I was 16 years old and spent 8 years in the automotive industry before joining Lumon Norway.
Question | How did you end up at Lumon?
Answer: As a new car salesperson, Lumon Norway was one of the companies I sold cars to. The then managing director invited me for an interview, and shortly after, I started as a sales representative.
Question | How have you grown in this job?
Answer: At Lumon, I have evolved as a sales representative and learned a lot about Lumon's way of working. This further fueled my desire for more responsibility, and after three successful years as a sales representative, I was ready for new challenges at Lumon Norway.
Question | What is the best part of your job? And about Lumon?
Answer: I think the best part of the job is the opportunity to manage my own day and income. The work needs to be done, but the ability to adjust working hours to fit my personal life means a lot to me. As a sales representative, it was also an extra motivation to know that there was no limit to how much I could earn.
The best thing about Lumon in my eyes is that they want to develop their employees in their current positions but also provide the opportunity for further advancement within the company.
Question | What can one expect a "day in the life" to look like?
Answer: The days are very diverse but usually involve 1-2 client meetings and efforts to acquire new customers. Distributing flyers or knocking on doors are very effective ways to acquire new customers.
Question | What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Answer: Being able to offer our customers the opportunity for a better everyday life.
Question | Favorite memory from your time at Lumon?
Answer: My best memory from my time at Lumon is when I was one of the winners in an international sales competition and won a trip to Spain to participate in the factory opening in early 2023.

Answer: Whatever you do in life, the goal is always to be the best.
